Pick a topic related to your story. Go to the library, read relevant books and articles, watch documentaries, ask experts, go to the source.
Curious about anything and everything? Uninspired? Let Wikipedia show you a random article. Click through related links until you find something interesting.
Some writers discover that research is one of their favorite parts of the process. In that case, give yourself a deadline to pause research and return to writing.
